Before 2019-nCoV happened, I had intentions to build a solar generator which was used to store the solar energy collected from solar panels in a battery. The power would then be used by the Raspberry Pi and its various components. But not being able to go to the laboratory in school regularly was a problem and the proposal was eventually dropped.

Listed below are the specifications, design calculations, 3D drawings in pdf and solar generator research

Specifications given by supervisor:

Design Calculations:

Bulb > 3W x 5 = 15W

Fan > 75W

Total Load Power > 75W + 15W = 90W

Total Consumption > 90W x 3.5h = 315W

Solar Panels Needed

Power > 150W

90W x 4.3PSH / 150W = 4 Panels

Battery Sizing

15W x 3.5H = 52.5

90W x 3.5H = 315

Total = 367.5/24 = 15.3125/h

DoD = 70%

Days of autonomy = 3

15.3125x3 /0.7 = 65.625Ah

Inverter

150W + 95W = 245W

367.5/0.8 =359.375

Charge Controller

V: 12V

A: 10A

DoD : 80%

Power = 10A x 12V = 120W

Ah = (10A x 3h) / 80% = 37.5 Ah

For this particular project, I am using the Raspberry Pi Model 4 B which I purchased from https://sg.cytron.io/p-raspberry-pi-4-model-b-2...
